There's a tension that shows up right before something breaks. You've felt it. Like anyone in the house could blow up at any second, because of how much is being carried.
That's not a communication problem. That's a capacity problem.
In this episode of the Breaking Chains Podcast, I'm walking through four types of capacity, mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual, and why building capacity, not just enduring more, is what actually changes the atmosphere in your home and your leadership.
Load does not equal capacity. Your ability to carry a lot and keep going doesn't mean you have great capacity. It might just mean you're really good at enduring while depleted, resentful, and disconnected.
This Episode Is For You If:
In This Episode, We Talk About:
Powerful Quotes
"Load does not equal great capacity."
"We've confused servant leadership with self-abandonment."
"Capacity changes the atmosphere."
"You think you have a clarity problem when really you just have a capacity problem."
"Before God hands us the next thing, He tests us to see how we are carrying the current thing."
Before God hands you the next thing, He tests how you're carrying the current thing.
Not with strife. Not with tension, anxiety, frustration, irritation. That's not the blessing of the Lord. The blessing of the Lord is many, and He adds no sorrow to it. We're the ones who keep adding the sorrow.
So the question isn't how do I carry more. It's am I carrying what's already in front of me with the right heart? With peace? With spaciousness, joy, and laughter? Or has all of that been sucked out of me because I'm trying to carry everything in my own strength, from a maxed out place?
The work is to slow down. To build the internal architecture, capacity and character, instead of just gripping tighter and pushing harder.
Because greater capacity doesn't just mean you can hold more. It means more presence at home. More patience under pressure. Better decision making when it's go time. A greater ability to hear God.
Where are you hitting a capacity ceiling right now, mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually? And what do you actually need to invest in so you can hold what God is asking you to carry next?
If you're ready for the structure, support, and accountability to build that capacity, we have advisory seats and the Rapid Implementation Intensive, a four month engagement where we work on identity, character, clarity, confidence, and capacity, and build a blueprint for a life, marriage, and legacy that outlives you.
